Yule Recipes!

Our hearts are meant to be warm, and full of empathy, love, generosity, and gratitude this season. This warmth will extend to our homes, filling their walls with forgiveness, peace, harmony, and healing. This is a season of faith in the unseen, like the growing sun, future potential, and spring’s return.

During Yuletide, cleansing rituals go hand in hand with household routines. After cleaning the floors, dust them with a floor sweep, clearing the shadow energy. Add gem or floral essence to solar-charged water and spritz it in the air to manifest the best of the season.

Before all is said and done, cleanse the altar, dress a candle, thank the Crone, welcome the Maiden, be grateful for the respite and wisdom of the shadow season, and celebrate the rebirth and fruitfulness of the sun.

The following recipes are presented in bakers’ percentages so you can adjust the recipe volume as needed. For example in the winter solstice tea, 100% peppermint leaves could be 1 tablespoon for a cup of tea so cinnamon and alfalfa leaves would be 1/4 tablespoon each or 25% of the total volume. In total, that would be 1.5 tablespoons of herb for a cup of tea. If you want to increase peppermint to 1 cup then cinnamon & cocoa nibs would be 1/4 cup each, and so on.

If the recipe does not have a medicinal effect on the body then I usually don’t worry about exact quantities. So long as the energy is there, I do a little of this or a little of that depending on how much I am using overall. For example, if I am already incorporating a lot of cinnamon in my oils and tea then I will use just a pinch in the salt.

Frankincense operates in the auric field and adapts to one’s spiritual state of being. It serves as a protector, and will not let one go where they are not ready to go. Vanilla promotes a happy and healthy environment, attracts good fortune and enhances mental stimulation. Cinnamon encourages energy and strength. It helps us find the inner love that is so often difficult to find. Wintergreen can penetrate deep within the body it can increase the vibration of the body and enhancing sound on all levels. This increase in vibration opens spiritual awareness and leads to introspection of divine and self-love.

100% Apple Cider Vinegar

10% Oak Bark

10% Blessed Thistle

Steep dried herbs in vinegar for at least 3 days before pressing/straining.
